Ah, spring! Now that winter has passed, it’s time to clear the cobwebs out of our bodies’ nooks and crannies and polish off our chakras! In yoga and Ayurveda, there are thought to be 7 chakras (or points of spiraling energy) along the length of the spine, beginning at the tailbone and ending at the top of the head. In this 2-hour workshop we will complete a series of Yin postures followed by a guided meditation, done with the intention of de-cluttering the chakras so energy can freely flow between them. Cost: $20

Drumming Alive! Yoga and Drumming Fusion Workshop

You have all the knowledge and wisdom of the universe within you. Let’s talk about how to access it. This workshop will begin with body-wisdom concepts and ways that we can access this wisdom for application in our everyday lives. You’ll come away with a greater understanding of how to hear what your body is desperately trying to say.
Next comes a soulful Vinyasa Flow-style Yoga, designed to enhance body awareness, increase intuitive connection, and move stale energy. Live drumming will accompany us as we create heat throughout the flow. In addition to moving and creating more energy in our practice, the drum will lead our breath by signaling the inhales and exhales. Intentional breathing is one of the most important things we can do on and off the mat. Put simply, an intentional breath is a healing breath, and the drum will bring you home to its power.
As you rest into your final savasana, the drum will offer you one final gift. Through a process called “entrainment,” your brainwaves will sync to the beat of the drum, reducing the speed of your mind effortlessly to the meditative “theta-state.” You’ll float in this state until we bring you back at the end of the workshop, all the while receiving Reiki and the healing resonance of the drum.
The DRUMMING ALIVE workshop is a fusion of yoga, drum healing, Reiki, and body-wisdom teachings that will help you to:
- Enter a deep meditative theta-state (i.e. deep peace & intuition) effortlessly via Drum Entrainment
- Move stagnant energy in Soul-flow Vinyasa Yoga
- Change your cells' vibration with Live Drumming
- Connect to the Healing Power of your breath

Yoga Nidra is a practice of guided meditation that creates deep physical relaxation, assists in the releasing of deep seated habits, and can expand an existing spiritual practice. Yoga Nidra is excellent for those seeking to develop a meditation practice or looking for healing of physical and emotional injuries. From a supine position with the eyes closed we work towards the release of deeply held emotions and tensions in the body.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a wonderful way to practice yoga without as much pressure on the joints as a regular yoga class, improving strength, flexibility, coordination and balance, stress, pain management, and mental clarity. 

This is a great option for seniors and those who have limited mobility, as well as for practicing yogis who want to learn some new techniques for the desk and airplane.

Through a variety of self expression activities we will help children smbrace who they are regardless of what others think and say. We will guide them through fast moving fun activities while exploring their inner thoughts, feelings and ideas as well as quieting the mind with meditation and yoga. 

This camp is offered by s.e.l.f and Prairie Fire Yoga.

Flow in the Dark

Raise yourself to a new level, mentally, physically, spiritually, in the joyful company of our yogic/active community. These magical sessions are made complete with fun music, fabulous tattoos, and very desirable glow stick jewelry. The sassy, smart Lyndsey will be your river guide for a juicy Flow and Glow yoga evening.

We recommend wearing white and neon for optimal visual effect under the black lights. $10 entry fee includes glow stick jewelry and temporary tattoos, so be prepared to get down with your newly glowing self.

TRE™ (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a practice developed by Dr. David Berceli to remind the body of its natural ability to release tension and stress.

This modality is a natural complement to yoga and pairing them together allows us to connect more fully to our mind, body and nervous system.

Come and learn how to integrate these practices and leave feeling more relaxed and grounded.

No prior level of physical fitness or special ability is required. Absolute beginners of both yoga and TRE™ are most welcome and encouraged to attend! Please wear comfortable clothes.
